ISSUE:
A high-end residential condominium building in Fort Lee, NJ recently experienced a utility transformer failure that blacked out an entire building leaving 200 residences in a 26-story building without electricity for up to two weeks.
SOLUTION:
The call came in at 3:00PM on a Sunday. Within 12 hours, GenServe installed two mobile gensets; 2000kW & 800kW and had the building back up on full power. GenServe also provided the customer with round the clock monitoring of generators as they were being operated. The entire power outage lasted 11 days before the utility company could restore power.
Thanks to GenServe’s commitment and fast response, all the residents were allowed to stay in their homes and lead their normal lives while the utility company repaired the street failure.
In the United States, the EPA has created what is known as the Air Quality Index which measures and reports on air quality. While the intention of the Air Quality Index (AQI) when it was initially developed was to protect the general public from hazardous levels of pollutants that may be present in the ozone, the AQI has since been expanded to govern the use of emergency backup power generators.
